Texas Down Syndrome Chat
The goal of this podcast is to provide professional, quality information, and resources to individuals with Down Syndrome and their families on topics of interest related to Down Syndrome in English and Spanish. Though there are some Down Syndrome Podcasts out there, there aren’t many that cater to the Latino population as well. This podcast will also bring awareness and support to the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas, which is based in San Antonio, but covers all South Texas.
Texas Down Syndrome Chat
30th Anniversary Special with Terri Mauldin!
Season 2, Episode 4 is a 30th Anniversary Special! The DSASTX is celebrating 30 years of serving the Down syndrome community this year. We were so excited to sit down with the first and former Executive Director of the DSASTX, Terri Mauldin. She gave us an insight on her journey from the very beginning from being a mom to her daughter Stephanie, who has Down syndrome, and how she became a part and helped pave the way to what the DSASTX has become today! She chats about her time and journey here serving as the Executive Director, and shared her stories of creating and establishing programs and events we have here today... even the DSASTX's first every Walk!! We hope you enjoy this month's episode, and thank our guest, Terri, for coming out to talk with us! We also hope the Texas Down Syndrome Chat supports, educates, and inspires our listeners, whether you have Down syndrome, or know someone who does.
